Good morning! I've explored class blogs and they can encourage students' independent learning and raise their motivation for learning English, because some important issues, you raise in the blogs can't be solved without extra students' researches. For example they discussed the problem of animal abuse in circuses and animal hunting. If they wanted to share their opinion and suggest some ways on how we can get rid of it, students had to study some information on the Internet for further fruitful discussion.
ReplyDeleteThe choice of acute problems encourage students to explore these problems, find some specific information on the issue. The lack of linguistic skills may cause difficulties in the study of the problems. The necessity to analyze and elicit the useful information raises students' motivation for learning English. The tasks and questions you offer, help students, on one hand, to see the direction of the investigation, and on the other hand, to work on their own.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tatsiana and Anna! You are absolutely right that that before students write their comment, they have to do work autonomously while studying the theme. An important point here is that they can post their comment whenever and from any place (computer, phone) they want.

In modern conditions of the modernization of the education in the Republic of Belarus, the problem of creating an effective methodological toolkit (a set of methods, techniques and tools) that would allow to bring education in school to a new level becomes more relevant than ever. Teachers' blogs are one of the most modern methods of modernizing the education sector and also increasing students’ motivation in studying. Using of teachers' blogs in education is represented by two main areas. The first is in using these technologies as a mean of increasing the accessibility of education by integration into the educational system persons for whom another way of learning is not possible. The second is in using of information technologies as a mean of changing the content and ways of learning in the traditional form. In conclusion, I can say that the teachers' blogs are necessary means of increasing the effectiveness of the educational process.
ReplyDeleteHello! I absolutely agree that work with blogs can raise stdents' motivation for learning English. While answering some questions in blogs, they have to study the topic and to find some extra material, so they have to work a lot before they write a comment. Moreover, while searching for information, they can find other similar current topics they are able to discuss with their classmates. For example when they discuss International Mother Language Day, they can discuss the extinct languages and the endangered languages in modern world, or the idea of international language.
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon. The using of computers on a regular basis in our life is very important. Computer science is explored and challenged by humans daily. Today computer technologies are widespread, especially in the learning of foreign languages. The computer capabilities support differnt classroom activities, group-work and pair-work tasks, independent wok. They also stimulate student - centered learning and indivialization in language learning.

I think that all those topics are very urgent and modern, so youth is really interested in environmental problems, in social life and they care much more than our parents and grandparents, they better understand that the only person who can change something is you, beginning from ourselves we can rich a lot. And of course it can motivate students to discuss and raise their interests. (Kristina Yemelyanchik)
